On September 15-16, 2023, the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum was held in Nanning with the theme of "Building a Platform for the Convergence and Integration of Industry and Education and Sharing the Achievements of Vocational Education Development". Taking the opportunity of this event, Nanning University invited the representatives of its partner institution, Banphai Industrial and Community Education College, to participate in the relevant activities and visit the university for exchanges.
On September 14th, on the eve of the opening of the exhibition and forum, the vice president of Banphai Industrial and Community Education College, Mr. Kosol Lertlam, and his party of 5 people were invited to Nanning University for visits and exchanges. In the morning, accompanied by Wen Xuguang, Director of Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation (hereinafter referred to as the Key Laboratory), and Qin Fengcai, Director of Development Planning and Cooperation and Exchange Office, the foreign guests visited the campus. After the visit, the two sides had a talk in Conference Room 400 of the Administration Building. President Li Dongxue and Vice President Chen Xiongzhang attended the seminar. President Li Dongxue delivered a warm welcome speech at the meeting, affirming the results of the cooperation between the two schools for more than ten years, describing the friendship between the two schools as Chinese Maotai wine, the longer the vintage, the more mellow the taste. Vice President Chen Xiongzhang then briefly introduced the school's operation and the current situation of international cooperation and exchanges and put forward suggestions for deepening cooperation in the areas of joint cultivation of talents, exchange of faculty and staff, and international scientific and technological cooperation. Mr. Kosol Lertlam expressed his gratitude to Nanning University for its warm reception and highly praised Nanning University for its superior education and teaching conditions and its mature and rich experience in cultivating railroad talents and made in-depth exchanges with the leaders on the joint cultivation mode of railroad transportation talents proposed by Nanning University. After the meeting, on behalf of the Key Laboratory, President Li Dongxue awarded the plaque of "Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Thailand Sub-center" to Banphai Industrial and Community Education College and issued the certificate of visiting professor of the Key Laboratory to five foreign guests.
In the afternoon, the Key Laboratory invited representatives of the Banphai Industrial and Community Education College to attend the inauguration ceremony of Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Center and the seminar on the construction of Guangxi New Technology Transfer Platform. At the inauguration ceremony, Director Wen Xuguang and Mr. Kosol Lertlam jointly inaugurated the Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Center. Relevant persons in charge of Nanning University attended the inauguration ceremony. After the ceremony, the representatives of both sides held a discussion on the construction of a new technology transfer platform in Guangxi in the meeting room E201 of South Silicon Valley. Mr. Kosol Lertlam said that the establishment of the Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Center is an important achievement of the in-depth cooperation between Banphai Industrial and Community Education College and the Key Laboratory, which will help Thailand Bampai College of Industrial Community Education and even ASEAN countries to grasp the trend of technology development more accurately and accelerate the scientific and technological research and development as well as the iteration of products. They will continue to create conditions for cooperation, build a platform for cooperation, broaden cooperation channels, actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, and continue to contribute to the exchange and development of Thailand, China, and ASEAN countries. Director Wen Xuguang said that the key laboratory will strive to play the advantages of the think tank, climb the peak in tackling key core technologies, focus on strategic, cutting-edge, basic research to play a role, and the Banphai Industrial and Community Education College synergize their efforts to jointly promote the industrialization of Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Center to achieve greater results in the application of the new technology.
On the afternoon of September 16, the Faculty of Transportation invited representatives from Thailand's Banphai Industrial and Community Education College to attend the Nanning University China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation Talent Cultivation, Applied Technology Research and Development Academic Exchange Meeting. At the meeting, Director Wen Xuguang highly recognized the results of the cooperation between the College of Transportation and the Thailand Vocational Education Union in teacher training and talent cultivation in Thailand. Mr. Fan Yi, Vice President of the Faculty, elaborated in detail the series of achievements made by the College in the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, international exchanges, student training, etc., and expressed his hope that the exchange meeting would be an opportunity to further deepen the cooperation and exchanges between the College and Thailand and to jointly promote the cause of China-Thailand comprehensive transportation talent cultivation to achieve the internationalization and high-quality development. Representatives from both sides also discussed in-depth the cultivation of internationalized skilled talents in the fields of transportation, logistics engineering, and new energy automobile engineering.
The visit of representatives from Banphai Industrial and Community Education College to Nanning has come to a successful end recently. Through this visit and exchange, Nanning University and Banphai Industrial and Community Education College have deepened mutual understanding, exchanged views on the upcoming cooperation projects, and injected more confidence and motivation for future cooperation between the two schools.
