Two courses of Nanning University have been selected as the second batch of national first-class undergraduate courses

Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Announcement of the Results of the Second Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses, which recognized 5,750 courses as the second batch of national first-class undergraduate courses. Among them, 1,095 are online courses, 472 are virtual simulation experimental teaching courses, 2,076 are offline courses, 1,800 are online-offline hybrid courses, and 307 are social practice courses. Two undergraduate courses, Social Practice (New Experience of Inheriting Heroic andRighteous Spirit), which is under the responsibility of Professor Chen Xiongzhang, Vice President of the university, and Fundamentals of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which is under the responsibility of Dr. Ma Jun of the Faculty of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, have been successfully selected.

In recent years, the university has actively responded to the strategic deployment of the Ministry of Education's "Double Ten Thousand Plan" by deepening the construction of "signature courses." The focus has been on cultivating students' practical skills and following the curriculum development approach of "triple restructuring and triple design". The school has implemented comprehensive reforms in the classification and construction of applied courses, with more than 300 courses approved for fostering first-class undergraduate courses, core courses for majors, ideological and political demonstration courses, and applied course demonstration courses. The reforms involve transforming course philosophies, reshaping course structures, reconstructing course contents, optimizing teaching designs, and innovating teaching methods. The goal is to create a series of advanced, innovative, and challenging courses to achieve an overall improvement in course quality. With the platform of industry-teaching integration and industrial colleges, the university has reformed the talent training mode, effectively improved students' ability to solve application problems, and enhanced their competitiveness in employment. Through a series of initiatives, a number of high-quality, distinctive, and innovative quality courses have been built. Up to now, in addition to 2 national first-class undergraduate courses, the school has approved 12 first-class undergraduate courses at the regional level and 3 model courses of course ideology and politics at the regional level, with outstanding course characteristics and nurturing advantages, laying a solid foundation for the school to cultivate high-quality applied talents.

In the future, the university will continue to prioritize the construction of first-class courses as a crucial aspect of high-level talent development. It will deepen the reforms of educational and teaching models and mechanisms to enhance the level of educational outputs from courses. Meanwhile, it will fully utilize the exemplary and leading role of first-class undergraduate courses to deepen classroom teaching reforms, promote the development of course contents, and improve the effectiveness of construction efforts. The school aims to create more high-quality and diversified first-class courses, catering to the diverse and personalized learning needs of students, and effectively enhancingthe quality of applied talent cultivation at the university.
