From November 16 to 23, 2023, President Li Dongxue led a delegation to make a friendly visit to a number of renowneduniversities in Singapore and Malaysia, aiming at expanding the international cooperation and exchange map, in order to further promote the cooperation between Nanning University and foreign institutions in the fields of teaching, research and other areas, and to provide teachers and students with more internationalized learning and exchange opportunities.
In Singapore, the delegation visited the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the head of the China Center, Director Kong Lijuan, around the teacher training, student exchanges and other aspects of cooperation in the exchange of learning to carry out exchanges and discussions.
In Malaysia, the delegation visited six universities including University of Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, Multimedia University, and had friendly exchanges with the representatives of several universities to learn about their experiences and practices in internationalization, education and teaching management, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, etc., and had in-depth discussions on topics such as student exchange programs, faculty exchange visits and training, joint cultivation of postgraduate students, and joint establishment of research centers. The delegation also held in-depth discussions on student exchange programs, faculty exchange visits, joint training of graduate students, and the establishment of joint research centers. The delegation also visited the university campus, school history museum, library, laboratories and other educational facilities, and exchanged ideas with students.
The visit was a complete success. Nanning University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, and a Letter of Intent on Cooperation with University of Malaya. Meanwhile, the visit to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia was also reported by Malaysia's largest Chinese-language daily newspaper, Sin Chew Daily.
President Li Dongxue indicated that the visit was an important initiative for our university to deepen international education cooperation and enhance the internationalization level of school running. He hoped that through this visit, the exchanges and cooperation between Nanning University and institutions in ASEAN countries could be further strengthened, and new vitality could be injected into the development of the university.
The success of this visit marks an important step for Nanning University in international education exchange and cooperation. In the future, Nanning University will continue to actively carry out exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries and provide more learning and development opportunities for teachers and students.
